By car

Parking – Mt Eden Village has a number of off-street and on-street parking options including mobility parking and a variety of timed parking options to meet your needs. Please be aware of where you are parking and the time needed to complete your visit. We encourage you to avoid earning yourself a parking ticket for overstaying the time allowance which will just spoil your visit to Mt Eden Village.

Bus Clearways – these operate in Mt Eden Village Monday to Friday between 7am to 10am and again at 4pm to 7pm. The Bus Clearways affect Mt Eden Rd and Stokes Rd only. Please note if you park your vehicle in the clearway during operational times, your vehicle will be towed away.

For a speedy visit – we recommend you utilise the on-street car parking on Mt Eden Rd. Both sides of Mt Eden Rd have a variety of parking times between 15 to 30 minutes.

For a shorter visit – we recommend you utilise the many on street car parking spaces which re located in the side streets off Mt Eden Rd. Parking times in these streets vary between 30 to 160 minutes.

For a long visit use Essex Rd car park – located at 10 Essex St you are able to park for 2 hours plus. The hourly rate for the first two hours to $0.50/hour, then $2.00 for every hour after that. The minimum charge is for 15 mins ($0.12).

For AT Park app users: the Area ID is 261001. For cash users: the parking machine currently accepts all New Zealand coins.

There are 34 car parks in the Essex Rd car park plus two mobility car parking spaces. The other option is to try the side streets with some unrestricted on-street parking.

Mobility parking – there are six mobility car parks located in Mt Eden Village at these addresses: two at 2 Ngauruhoe St, one at Newnham Lane, one at 1 Grange Rd, two in the Essex Rd car park and two at 1 Poronui St.

By bus

Commuting to Mt Eden Village is easy as there are two services available; a fast and regular commuter service and a scenic service that takes in the other suburbs and key destinations in Auckland.

Bus services to and from Mt Eden Village – Departing at Downtown Britomart, Metro bus number 27H, 27T or 27W will take you from Downtown Britomart to Mt Eden Village return every 15 minutes, 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday.

A Saturday, Sunday and Public holiday services is also available with buses leaving approximately every 30 minutes.

Mt Eden Village bus stops for commuter travel to and from Downtown Britomart – to travel north towards Downtown Britomart use stop 8513 located at 415 Mt Eden Rd. To travel to Mt Eden Village from Downtown CBD you will disembark in Mt Eden Village at stop 8510 located at 444 Mt Eden Rd serves southbound travellers heading towards Three Kings. Scenic travel around Auckland

LINK Service – is an easy service to get around Auckland. There are three LINK services, Red, Green and Amber service each traveling clockwise and anti-clock wise.

City LINK – is a bright red bus that travels every 7-10 minutes around the inner CBD from Britomart to K’Rd to Wynyard Quarter. This service links to the green Inner LINK service at Britomart and K’Rd and also the amber Outer LINK service at Wellesley St.

Inner LINK – is a bright green bus that travels every 10 -15 minutes around the inner city. Stopping in Britomart, Parnell, Museum, Newmarket, K’Rd, Ponsonby Rd, Victoria Park and Albert St. This service links to the amber Outer LINK service at Parnell, Newmarket and Victoria Park.

Outer LINK – is a bright amber bus that travels one way every 15 minutes around Auckland’s inner suburbs. Stopping in Wellesley St, Parnell, Newmarket, Epsom, Mt Eden, Balmoral, St Lukes, Mt Albert, MOTAT, Herne Bay and Three Lamps. This service links to both the red City LINK at Wellesley St and the green Inner LINK service at Parnell, Newmarket and Three Lamps.

Mt Eden Village bus stops for the Outer LINK service – to travel one-way use bus stop 8510 located at 444 Mt Eden Rd to get on and off the Outer LINK service.

By train

The Mt Eden Train station is currently closed until 2026. However, in the meantime, there is the 64 rail replacement bus service ($1 or free) which connects Mt Eden to Kingsland and Newmarket (via Boston Rd/Khyber Pass).
