Mt Eden Village Centre in December
The year is coming to a close and the festive season is upon us. We thank you all for your support of the Mt Eden Village Centre this year.
The Mt Eden Methodist Congregation invites you to celebrate Christmas Day with them at Epsom Church, 587 Manukau Road, this year. The service will begin at 9.30am. Regular services at Mt Eden Church are held every Sunday at 10.00am with tea afterwards in the Lounge. The Fiji-Indian Fellowship worship service is also a special one on Sunday 16 December at 3.00pm. Everyone is welcome.
We have a couple of events to help you with your gifting decisions. Popular Mt Eden artist Guy Harkness is holding his Art Sale of Paintings and Prints in the Foyer this Sunday 1 December from 9.00am to 5.00pm. You can visit his website or have a sneak peek below. His works have always been popular at Christmas time.
And on Saturday 14 December the wonderful Mt Eden Village Craft Market is here at the Centre to help you with your gifting decisions too. Open from 10.00am to 4.00pm, there will be a great variety of interesting stalls to browse. The Market features items handmade in New Zealand by expert crafters. It’s an opportunity to support local artists and find loads of beautiful handmade treasures and tasty treats, perfect for yourself or to gift.
Pop in and have a chat to our local Community Police Officer on Thursday 5 December from 10.00am to 12.00noon. Coffee with a Cop is a good way to talk about things you might be a bit concerned about in your neighbourhood and our Cop is very approachable and would love to meet you.
If you have a moment on Saturday 7 December between 10.00am and 1.00pm, Auckland Transport are consulting about proposed changes to some central crosstown bus services. These proposed changes include the OuterLink and the 650. You can read through the proposed changes online here. The drop in session is in the Foyer and is a good opportunity to talk to the team if you need more information for your submission. Feedback is open until 13 December 2019.
On Saturday 7 December we also have Kay from Baby Sensory here with Baby’s FIRST Christmas. You can’t get any cuter than that! Sparkly snow, Jingle Bells, lots of Christmas songs … spaces are very limited. Kay’s regular classes restart on 4 February 2020.
Looking ahead to January 2020, Pform.nz have your school holiday dilemma sorted with their Summer Holiday Fun! programme. With Dance|Sing|Act, Drama, Theatre Sports, Acting for Screen and Hip Hop|Physical Theatre between Monday 20 and Friday 24 January 2020, there is something for every kid. Tickets are on sale soon at Eventfinda and her new Album is on Presale here.
Support groups AA and NA continue through the December/January period. Alcoholics Anonymous meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10.00am, and Narcotics Anonymous meet every Friday from 12.00noon. All meetings are held in the Lounge. We have a number of changes to classes during the next two months so please check with your instructor or visit our website calendar for more information.
On behalf of the Mt Eden Methodist Church Charitable Trust, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful time with friends and family.
