During Maywe have a debut Art Exhibition and a couple of debut gigs for our young people during Celebrate Music Month.  All our regular classes and markets are also on so why not come along and join us for some of the many different activities we have to offer here at the Mt Eden Village Centre.

The Opening Night for local artist Luna Lee’sdebut Exhibition is Wednesday 2 May, 5.30pm – 7.30pm, all welcome.  The exhibition will be open daily from Thursday 3 May at 9.00amto Tuesday 8 Mayat 2.30pm. Opening hours are on our Facebook pagewebsite and poster attached.  Luna is a liquid art specialist and all works are for sale.

Celebrate NZ Music Monthwith two great gigs across two days to satisfy the eyes and ears of youngsters and adults alike.  On Friday 18 Mayat 7.00pmwe have the multi-talented Josh Leys with his genre-crossing original songs and covers. Josh has wide appeal and is the perfect entertainer for music-curious teensand adults looking for a fun Friday evening in the Village.  This show is alcohol free and for those aged 14 and up.  Very reasonably priced tickets can be purchased here.
Saturday 19 Mayat 2.00pmwe have artists Steve Abeland Reb Fountainsharing their spellbinding songs and weaving stories for young and old in a family-focused show.  Swapping guitar lines inspired by alt-folk and country, Steve and Reb share the stage with inspiring percussionist and drummer Chris O’Connor AKA The Can Man.  Chris will bring his Can Man suit out for some lively moves.  Perfect family entertainment on an autumn Saturday afternoon.  Tickets on Eventfinda here.

On Thursday 3 Mayfrom 7.00pm-8.00pm, Norina is running a Free Trial session of Ecstatic Dance Meditation in the Hall.  If you are thinking of trying something a little different, come along and enjoy.

Join Forest and Bird on Sunday 6 Mayfrom 2.00pm-4.00pmfor their Central Auckland Branch AGMand Conservation Talk.  Guest speaker Ben Goodwin, Ectotherms keeper at Auckland Zoo, will be speaking about our native lizards and geckos.  Ben will be giving insights to these precious species, how they are getting on in the Auckland area what we can do to protect them and their habitat.

On Saturday 12 May, the Mt Eden Village Craft Markettakes over the Centre.  Open 10.00am-4.00pm, the Market features items handmade in New Zealand by expert crafters.  It’s a great opportunity to support local artists and find loads of beautiful handmade treasures, perfect for gifts.

The Mt Eden Wellbeing Marketis here on the last Saturday of every month. This month it is Saturday 26 Mayat 10.00am-3.00pm.  Central Auckland’s regular monthly mind, body and spirit market has natural health therapies, advice and nutritional support, on-site massage, natural first aid kits and home remedies and much, much more.  More information is here.

The Mt Eden Methodist Congregation invites you to join them every Sundayin their beautiful historic Church.  Services are held at 10.00amwith tea afterwards in the Lounge.  On the 3rdSunday of every month we have the Fiji-Indian Fellowship worship service at 3.00pm.  Everyone is welcome.

Empower Christian Groupmeets every Thursdayat 7.00pmin the Church. Everyone from all diverse cultures and age groups is welcome to come.  Every last Thursday of the month Empower are out in the community and meet elsewhere.  Contact Theresa for more information on 021 0257 7675.
